Four online
services that I use are Facebook, UHD Blackboard, Yahoo mail, and Google
blogger. They have many different options as far as the account security or privacy
settings. Facebook has options such as making my profile private, public,
viewable to only friends. It also has an option to block unnecessary tagging
from people in your friends list. I can also deactivate my account any time I want
to if I don’t feel like I’m going to be using for a while. The UHD blackboard
allows me to make my email, address, phone number private so that I am the only
one that can see this information. I can hide my name off the roster so that
only the teacher can see my name and no one else. Google blogger has a setting
where I can check all the previous records as to when I have logged and if any
log in timings are not accurate, I can file a complaint. Yahoo mail has a
privacy option in which if I suspect that someone else logged in, I can set up
a secondary log in verification. Or change my password so that it doesn’t happen
again. I feel that Facebook has the most privacy settings and the best one is the
setting to deactivate when you’re not using it and then being able to activate
again when you want to use it. UHD blackboard has the worst since there are not
a lot of privacy setting options.
